South Cambridgeshire based farmer’s wife, and mother of two girls, Jenny Jefferies is an award winning Author, Columnist and Radio Producer/Presenter. Jenny compiled the successful book series For The Love Of The Land, For The Love Of The Sea, their sequels, and most recently, Islands In A Common Sea: Stories of Farming, Fishing and Food Around the World, all published by Meze Publishing.
For The Love Of The Land was shortlisted for Best Cook Book in the Great British Food Awards 2021 and was Woman & Home’s Best Cookbook 2021.
For The Love Of The Sea won Best Self-Published Work in The Guild Of Food Writers Annual Awards 2022.
For The Love Of The Land II won Best Cookbook in the Best Independent Book Awards 2023.
Islands In A Common Sea won Best International Cookbook in the NYC Big Book Awards 2024.
Jenny is a Love British Food Ambassador, a mentor and a member of The Guild of Food Writers, and a member of The British Guild of Agricultural Journalists. Jenny writes regular articles and blogs for the Farmers Guardian, Country & Town House, and Rural Life magazine, and is the Food Columnist for The Cambridge Independent. Jenny is also an Ambassador for Eco Ewe, a Judge for The Guild Of Fine Food Great Taste Awards and a radio producer and presenter for Black Cat Radio 102.5FM.
Jenny’s passions are supporting our food producers, educating all generations about food provenance, highlighting our heritage, traditions and culture in our farming and fishing communities as well as giving a voice to women in both the agricultural and fishing industries around the world.
Jenny fundamentally believes that where there’s an opportunity to earn there’s an opportunity to give which is why Jenny is donating a proportion of her net profits to charities from the sales of her books including, the National Literacy Trust, The RNLI, The Farm Safety Foundation aka Yellow Wellies and The Food Teachers Centre, Fish In School Heroes Program. £2 from every copy sold of Islands In A Common Sea is being donated to the United Nations, World Food Programme, award-winning ShareTheMeal Campaign.
Jenny won Silver for Newcomer of the Year and Silver in the Specialist Content Show of the year for her show ‘Your Voice’ for Black Cat Radio 102.5fm in the UK Community Radio Awards 2023.
